In January of 2009, Rogers began planning its first local foods initiative - the Rogers Farmer's Market. The market did very well for itself but the City of Rogers wanted more! In the fall of 2009, the City applied for and was selected as a host site for Minnesota GreenCorps, an environmentally-focused AmeriCorps program here in Minnesota. A Minnesota GreenCorps member will serve with the City until August 2010, helping to improve and expand the farmer's market, establish a community garden, and assist with other local food initiatives in Rogers.
