Rogers residents will see a new Police Station being remodeled and opened for operation during 2014.  In 2013, the City purchased an existing industrial property/building on Industrial Court in Rogers with plans to renovate the building to become the new home of the Rogers Police Department.  The City’s current Police Station has been identified as needing replacement for many years and is the most deficient departmental building owned by the City in terms size, condition and functionality.  Numerous building issues make the current facility untenable for future use as a Police Station.

Buying an existing building as opposed to building a new footprint will allow the City to save several million dollars, with the range depending upon the alternatives being compared (adding on to the Fire Station or a new building altogether, etc.).   The total estimated cost of the project – including the initial purchase of the building, renovation and technology/equipment costs – is approximately $3.4-$3.5 million.  The interior remodel of the future Police Station is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2014 and will accommodate the expected growth of the City over the next 20-30 years.
