The Rogers Police Department has been experiencing a high level of false alarm responses this summer. Businesses and homeowners should be reminded that the City of Rogers does have a false alarm ordinance which assesses a fee to the property owner for false alarms.
The National Alarm Manufacture's Association highly recommends a process to be used that would help deter the number of false alarm calls received to your building. Their "Two-Call" process has been found to eliminate upwards of 90% of the false alarm calls that are forwarded to public safety answering points for police response . The two call process involves your alarm monitoring company making two calls upon their receipt of the intrusion alarm. The first is to the business, if no answer there, a second call to a primary key holder, who can then decide if they wish for a police response. This process does not slow down the dispatching protocols enough to create issues with delayed police response. It does however avoid responses to accidental or other alarm trips, which helps the police department remain available for other calls and emergencies.
